Rules
for submitting a video
1. Videos must be of a comic book fandom. Just because this site is as a whole devoted to X-Men, doesn't mean I don't like other fandoms. I am most familiar with Marvel comics (i.e. The Punisher, Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, Blade, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, etc...) but I do love other comics like Batman and V for Vendetta (DC comics), and even Frank Miller's Sin City is based on a comic/graphic novel. If you are not sure that your video is based on a comic. Tv or movie fandoms are accepted as long as it is about a comic book adaptation. Anime adaptations of mangas are acceptable as well, such as D.N. Angel etc... Crossovers with other fandoms outside of the comic realm are fine, as well as films written by a graphic novelist (such as Neil Gaiman, etc)
Not sure if your fandom qualifies you can ask me or go to imdb.com and check out the main page of the film/series. it usually says what it is adapted from whether it me a comic, etc. ;)
2. At this time I am not accepting slideshows for video entries. I want to see live action , though I have seen some nice Romy ones ;) If it changes at any time, I will let you all know.
3. Up to two entries per vidder in a round, please. I don’t want to get alarmingly overwhelmed, but rounds weren't filling up fast with one per vidder.
4. Rounds will run once a month. I also judge at EPMVA, and since that is my primary responsibility, a round will open when the prior round's winners are posted. A round will close when it hits either 20 entries or when I close it after being open for a long stretch of time. I say 20 entries now, but that is subject to change when more time is available.
5. So you submitted to EPMVA and won, and you wonder if you can submit them again here. You can, I don’t mind seeing the videos again. But just because you won there doesn’t mean you will automatically win again here. Judging at this site is going to be a little more tighter than over there because the videos here are going to be a lot similar to each other. The only thing I ask of you is not to submit a video to EPMVA and TXI simultaneously, hit me up at one site one month and the other the next if you must. I don’t want to see it at both sites at the same time. Give me some variety ;)
6. Files size and hosting: Please do not submit a video over 30 MBs. If you contact me about it I am usually good at giving the go ahead, but I have dial up so I need some kind warning before I hit download and find out I have a 5-6 hour download time. That is just cruel. You can use your own site to host vids, or any free file hosting site EXCEPT Rapidshare. I will not accept any Stream files EXCEPT FOR YOUTUBE. I want to be able to download them so that I can judge without having to be online waiting an hour or more for a video to load properly to watch it. Trust me, it gets really annoying. Youtube is the only streamfile site that actually works for me, even though it does take a really long time and i would PREFER you send me soemthing downloadable, but I will accept Youtube links from now on.
-Some good hosting sites that you CAN use, angelfire.com host files up to 20MBs for free. Turboupload.com, and Yousendit.com (though this only host for 7 days and you may have to resubmit if things get hectic)
7. I would greatly appreciate you posting a link back here if you have a site. The site pimpage is nice.
8. Have fun! Don’t take it harshly if you do not win an award. It wouldn’t be called competition if every video won, and if you don’t win you can always re-enter.
Please do not resubmit a video that has already one an award, regardless if it has been re-edited or not. Variety from every vidder is better than repeated viewing of a single song concept :)
9. To ensure that you read and understood the rules so I don‘t have to go into a berserker rage and cut you from the round, humor me and put Hidden Agenda in the “In which TAS episode did Rogue refer to herself as 'Mrs. LeBeau?':” option ;)
Any exceptions to the rules have to be veritfied and discussed with me before being let through and into the competition. If for some reason you cannot follow one of the above rules PLEASE let me know instead of not submiting at all. I will try to do my best not to exclude anybody, but you have to let me know.
